Anti Modern Slavery Statement for the Walter & Wild Group

  1. Walter & Wild Holdings Limited is headquartered in New Zealand (NZ) and has operating subsidiaries in NZ, Australia and the United Kingdom, including Walter & Wild Pty Limited (AU) and Walter & Wild Limited (UK) (Group). The Group makes and supplies food and beverage products.

  1. The Group recognises that modern slavery:
  • is illegal and an abuse of human rights;
  • involves exploitation and can include forced and child labour; bonded labour; slavery and servitude; and human trafficking; and
  • is a risk that businesses can be exposed to, including via their direct operations and indirectly through their supply chains.

  1. The Group’s supply chain includes sourcing commodities, ingredients and finished products from third parties (both in NZ and overseas); food and beverage manufacturing in NZ; and distribution and supply to customers, including individuals, wholesalers, retailers, licensees and franchisees.

  1. The Group considers its key areas of modern slavery risk may arise:
  • in its operations – from child labour in Group, licensee or franchisee-run ice cream stores;
  • in its supply chain – from forced or child labour used in producing commodities sourced from third parties.

  1. The Group is committed to reducing the risk of modern slavery in its operations and supply chain, and undertakes a number of steps to mitigate that risk, including:
  • maintaining Group policies aimed at preventing instances of modern slavery;
  • training Group staff in identifying and managing modern slavery risks;
  • requiring age verification of employees and applying strict rules governing younger worker roles and activities; and
  • adopting anti-modern slavery codes, such as the SEDEX standards.

  1. The Group assesses the effectiveness of steps it undertakes to mitigate the risk of modern slavery through Group reporting, inspecting suppliers, internal and external audits, and monitoring and acting on protected (“whistleblower”) disclosures.

  1. This statement is made for the financial year ending 31 December 2025 and was approved by directors of Group entities.
